The 1 oz gold coins are individually packaged in plastic capsules, with multiples sealed in plastic rolls of 20 coins or boxed in quantities of 100 coins (each box containing five rolls of 20 coins). The 1 oz coin is the only one in the series with a limited mintage of just 30,000 coins.
The modern interpretation of Snake years, particularly Wood Snake years, highlights their potential for personal growth and innovative thinking. The combination of the snake’s wisdom and the wood element’s growth-oriented nature is often seen as a catalyst for positive change.
The obverse of the 2025 Australian Gold Lunar Snake Coin features the first-ever portrait of King Charles III. This marks the debut of a monarch other than Elizabeth II on Lunar Series coins. King Charles III is depicted in left-profile relief without a crown, a design created by Dan Thorne for the Perth Mint.
On the reverse of the 2025 1 oz Gold Lunar Snake, you will find a design by Sean Rogers. This distinctive image will appear on all gold coins and the 1 oz platinum coin in this series. The design shows a snake coiled around several bamboo shoots with foliage overhead.
