Description
Introduced in 1986, the American Gold Eagle Series holds the title of the official gold bullion coin of the United States. Though it isn’t the purest gold coin issued by the US Mint, its imagery is deeply rooted in American history with depictions of Lady Liberty and the American bald eagle gracing its obverse and reverse sides. Presently, Certified Coins offers the 2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins.

The United States Mint produces two gold bullion coins annually. The Gold Eagle, the elder of the two, features 22-karat gold, compared to the newer 24-karat Gold Buffalo. Gold Eagle coins are composed of 91.67% gold, 5.33% copper, and 3% silver.
All 2025 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins from Certified Coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Individual coins are packaged in plastic flips, while multiples come in protective tubes of 20 coins, and large quantities are shipped in Monster Boxes containing 500 coins.
The obverse side of the 2025 American Gold Eagles showcases the historic image of Lady Liberty. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this design presents a full-length, front-facing depiction of Liberty holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The background features a ring of stars, sunrays, and the U.S. Capitol.
The reverse of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin introduces a new design from July 2021 by Jennie Norris. This image captures the head of the bald eagle in left-profile relief, highlighting the eagle’s intense gaze and elegant plumage in exquisite detail.
